Rockpool Reverie Painting

$800.00
This painting was exhibited in the 'Multicultural Diversity' exhibition as part of the The Liberti Festival @superordinary in Brisbane.
Inspired by the seaside rockpools on the Sunshine Coast full of diverse sea life, creatures and plants which sparkle and swirl under the water. A colourful tapestry of pattern and colour weaving together a vibrant natural environment.
A similar diversity which can be found with the many cultures which are part of our community in Brisbane. There is such a richness of unique ideas and approaches to be found with culture, in particular when exploring this through art, music, dance and creativity. By embracing this diversity we open our worlds and minds to a kaleidoscope of views which brings us together as people encouraging peace, love and understanding.
Diversity is a significant approach in my practice whether it be exploring different mediums, conceptual ideas and styles I embrace this term as significant to my creative practice. I also like to explore my Dutch cultural background through my work as I feel it is one of the reasons I have such a strong desire to create.
